Jill & Michael (July 5th, 2008)

This was my first wedding w/ the 70-200 f2.8/L IS USM and oh BOY am I glad I finally have it!!! It got me some awesome shots from the balcony during the ceremony ^_^ Below is a mix of shots with it and the 17-55 f2.8 IS USM.

1) This one is probably my favorite shot:

2) I had a great angle upstairs w/ the 70-200 for this shot

3) Another 70-200 shot. They looked so happy being announced as husband and wife finally :)

4) So my order is a little wacky, but anyhoo, I shot this before the ceremony and really like how it came out.

5) A fun shot with the bridesmaids in the bathroom

6) A mother daughter moment before the wedding ceremony

7) Not sure why, but I like this shot of them signing their marriage license

8) And lastly, Michael loves his mom (taken during their dance)

This wedding had such great emotions and energy, it was a real pleasure to shoot.

Fireworks

July 4th is also my father-in-law's birthday so since both my husband and I had the day off from work, we drove out to Oswego, IL to spend it with them.

A few of my favorite fireworks shots are below. Shot with my 40D and 17-55 f2.8 IS. Generally shot with ISO 100, f8, 2 seconds.

I second shot with Cindy Carlile of CapturedByCandi.com which was a real treat. She is extremely great at posing the couple.

1920's Theme Wedding: Jessica & David, May 31st, 2008

Jessica and David got married on 05-31-2008 and had a really neat 1920's theme wedding.

Also, I now must take back the comment I made last week that the Lightsphere ate through batteries... I only went through two sets of rechargeables this time... so maybe it was just that it was the first time I used those batteries and their initial charge didn't actually charge them all the way? Anyhoo, I'm still loving the Lightsphere :) And this wedding was in a smaller area, so I never had to use the 70-200... it was the 17-55 all the way!

Wedding of Jacqulin & Anthony (5/24/2008)

Finally got to test out the 17-55 and Lightsphere in a wedding setting. Pretty pleased, but was pretty annoyed at how fast the Lightsphere drained my batteries... though I reallllly like the effects the lightsphere gives, so it's a love hate relationship, lol.

Anyhoo on with the photos!

1) Maid of Honor

2) The bride after getting her makeup on

3) The rings

4) One of the bridesmaids

5) A son of one of the bridesmaids

6) The rings on their hands (two of her fingers are tucked under her hand since her cuticles had several cuts and she wanted to hide that)

7) They didn't play nice w/ the cake

8) I love how the lightsphere lit up this couple

9) Another adorable child

10) No ligthsphere but this is pretty funny (just bounce flash)

11) 70-200 and bounce flash only

12) Also 70-200 and bounce flash only
